DrupalCamp Galway 2009 - Short Review

Drupal Camp in Galway was great fun! It was a two day event, but Eleanor and myself could only go to Saturday, which meant we missed out on the site building day for the charity websites.

DrupalCon DC was discussed, apparently it was great fun. It convinced me enough that I want to head to DrupalCon Europe in Paris!

There was a talk about Drupal 7, and the changes likely to be in the final release. Lots of people really hate the Garland theme, that seems to be coming out, and a different default theme being included. Also changing in the themes section is a nice looking basic theme to start from when theming.

We talked about Simple Test. Simple Test allows you to check if changes you make to your module breaks your module's functionality (as defined by the simple test) or if it breaks any other modules either! The module has assertions which are used to verify if a given value is true (e.g. 'assertText'). The module also has the ability to simulate user clicks, and adminstration.

We had a talk about documentation from Add1sun, who works for Lullabot. The short version is 'documentation is good'! More people should document their code, of course we all know that!
